WINTERS John Owens. Sergeant ,Air Gunner 1796389, Royal Air Force (VR) killed on active service ( killed whilst flying in Halifax V, DJ982 of No 1664 HCU, which spun into the ground and exploded on impact near Northallerton during a fighter affiliation exercise.) on the 2nd December 1943 aged 19. He was stationed the Royal Canadian Air Force Station, Croft Darlington. He was the son of Thomas and Sarah of 5, Banbury Street, Belfast.. He is at rest in Dundonald Cemetery, County Down, Northern Ireland. with his parents.
