WINNINGTON, John Francis Sartorius, DSO

Lieutent Colonel, Worcestershire Regiment attached to the 1/4th Northamptonshire Regiment in France, Gallipoli and died of wounds in Palestine 22nd September 1918 aged 42. Twice Mentioned in Despatches. He was the son of Captain John Taylor Winnington and he was the husband of Joyce Mary nee Marriage of Broughton Park, Worcester. Served in the South African War. Commemorated on a window in the cloisters of Worcester Cathedral and is buried in Ramleh War cemetery, Israle, Palestine and Gaza
