LIEUTENANT WILMOT BABINGTON PARKER SMITH SCOTTISH HORSE (E, 1899-1904) was born on July 14th, 1885 son of the Right Hon. James Parker Smith (COLL., 1868-1873; late Warden of 'Vinchester College). Heentered Mr. Morshead's House from Cargilfield School, became a Commoner Prefect and shot in the winning VIII at Bisley. He went up to King's College, Cambridge, in 1904 with an Honorary Exhibition and was placed in the First Class of the Classical Tripos. On leaving the University he went to Calcutta to enter the service of the Bombay Company and joined the Calcutta Light Horse. When the war broke out, being then at home on sick leave, he was transferred to the Scottish Horse. He died at Malta on September 11th, 1915, of wounds received at the Dardanelles nine days earlier
