Rifleman 17/1039 William TANNER. 8th Royal Irish Rifles.
Born 17 December 1897 to Samuel and Jane Tanner, nee Bell of Carryreagh Co Down.
Irish 1911 census. Residing with his parents and siblings at 5 Castle Street, Donaghadee.
Died of wounds in France 11 June 1916 aged 18 and 06 months.
War gratuity was granted to his father 18 January 1917 revised 9 December 1919.
Commemorated on a family memorial in Donaghadee Parish Churchyard, Co Down Northern Ireland.
At rest in in Authuile Military Cemetery, Authuile, France. (Now Authuile)
