Private William Robert JERROM No.53
3rd Bn. Australian Machine Gun Corps
Died 24 April 1918 aged 28.

Son of George JERROM East Street, Narrandera New South Wales, Australia. Enlisted 20 March 1916. He was wounded in action 2 June 1917, gunshot wound to leg, fractured right tibula and treated 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station the same day. On 7 June 1917 he was at 2nd Australian General Hospital and transferred to England on hospital ship "Jan Breydel". Discharged 14 November 1917 from Sutton Veny Longbridge Deverell and left for France. 17 April 1918 he was gassed in action at Rouen France and treated on 19 April 1918 at 11th Stationery Hospital. 21 April 1918 he was sent to England on hospital ship "Grant Castle" and died of his wounds at Cheltenham Area War Hospital (VAD) on 24 April 1918 and laid to rest 29 April 1918.

At rest at Cheltenham Cemetery Gloucestershire.
