William John Fairnell LONGBONE . Engine Room Artificer 4th Class 271331, Royal Navy on HMS Edgar. Born 28th September 1887 at Berwick on Tweed, Northumberland to Augustus John Longbone and Margaret Dix Knox Fairnell. Enlisted 1st April 1903, occupation prior to enlistment, still at school. Died 8th July 1911 aged 24 in Royal Naval Hospital, Malta of enteric fever. His mother was informed of his death 10th July 1911. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - Seaman, Royal Navy on HMS Edgar died on date and place stated. Administration London 14th December 1911 to The Treasury Solicitor, £142 6s 1d.
