William HUNTER. Sergeant 16/347, 16th Royal Irish Rifles. Born 1882 in County Antrim in Ireland
He may have been residing at the following address in 1901 with his siblings at 125 Clifton Park Avenue, Belfast. His brother Hugh Busby Hunter being head of the family, no parents mentioned. Hugh got married in 1907 giving his father as James Stevenson Hunter. His mother was called Dorothea nee Busby. He died of wounds Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley nr Southampton, Hampshire 29 April 1918 aged 36. His aunt Martha Hoy of 16 Summer Street, Clifton Park Avenue, Belfast was granted a war gratuity 29 March 1919, revised 22 November 1919.
At rest in Old Priory Churchyard Holywood opposite the cemetery, Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland. (Headstone is laid down and near the ruined church)
