William Henry HICKIN

Private William Henry HICKIN No.747 24th of Foot Regiment (2nd Warwickshire (Post-1881 Childers Reforms known as the South Wales Borderers.))
Died 22 January 1879 aged 25 at the Battle of
Isandhlwana which was the first major encounter in the Anglo–Zulu War between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom.

Only son of William and Mary Hickin.

Commemorated on a family headstone at

Hanley Stoke-on-Trent Cemetery, Staffordshire.
