Wilfred SMITH

SMITH, Wilfred. Private 39419, 1/4th South Lancashire Regiment, he died of wounds received at Ypres, France (as inscribed on the memorial) on the 20th September 1917 aged 26. He was the husband of Rose of Lowton, Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire. He was also native of the area. He is commemorated on a family memorial in Leigh Cemetery, Lancashire and he is at rest in Brandhoek New Military Cemetery, No 3, Belgium.
