6734 Pte John Wichard 1 Glosters he Joined in 1903 and fought in South Africa India and France in WW1
His actual army record did not survive the bombing and the fire. There are 6 internal letters from the The Ministry of Pensions. One letter dated 9th January 1937 (Discharge) gave his rank as L/Cpl/ Enlisted 4th February 1903. Discharged to 4th February 1916. Cause of discharge Termination of Engagement He appeared to have rejoined into the Royal Engineers with number WR/201144 and subsequently discharged on the 4th March 1919.
Pension number was A436542. His medal card gives his rank as Private and only his Glosters army number.
