Brief notes. Born 10th May 1860, Passed A V G exam on the 19th October 1891. Promoted to Acting Boatswain 17th January
1893, confirmed 4th June 1894, promoted to Chief Boatswain 1st April 1912.
His first ship as Acting Boatswain was HMS Belleisle, 24th April 1893 and first ship as Chief Boatswain was HMS Magnificent(vivid) 13th May 1912
Served as Lieutenant in World War 1 and awarded a medal
In1881 aged 20 he was in the Royal on HMS Northumberland anchored off Gibraltar, rank, leading Seaman.
1901 Census Living at Ford St Mark, Devonport with his family, rank, Boatswain
1911 Census aged 50 he was a Boatswain, Royal Navy living at 53 Lorrimore Avenue Stoke, Devonport, Devon with his wife Elizabeth Sophia nee Johnson and children.
