- Walter FRANCIS served as Walter MAY Able Seaman 211270 Royal Navy on HMS Russell. Born 21 December 1884 at Canterbury Kent enlisted 30 August 1900 on HMS St Vincent, occupation prior to enlistment, Labourer. Died 27th April 1916 aged 31 years when HMS Russell was sunk by a mine. His widow Ethel May nee Woolley of Avalon, London Road Upper Deal Kent was informed of his death.
At rest in Plot C Grave 309 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
