JONDAHL Victor Robert. Private, 331, 21st Battalion, Australian Infantry. Died of enteric fever, 2nd November 1915, aged 19 years. The son of Erik and Annie Mary Jondahl, of The Post Office, Langwarrin, Victoria, Australia. In our lonely hours of thinking thoughts of you are always dear.
TURNER Alonzo James. Private, 12948, 6th York and Lancaster Regiment. Died 2nd November 1915 of dysentery either at sea in a hospital ship or at Malta. He contracted the disease whilst on active in the Dardanelles. Son of Thomas and Fanny of 94 Concrete Cottages, Wombwell, near Barnsley, South Yorkshire His birth was registered as Alonso James Turner.

He joined up on the 31st August 1914 aged 34, widower, worked as a miner and posted to the 7th Yorkshire and Lancashire Regiment. On the 14th July 1915 posted to the 11th Bn, then to the 6th Bn on the 13th September 1915 who were serving in the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force. He was married to Mary Helen Baker in 1905 at Rotherham, South Yorkshire. One child was mentioned, John Turner born 6th March 1909. He was living at 94 Concrete Cottages, Wombwell with his grandparents, Thomas and Fanny Turner. He died in a hospital in Malta of dysentery on the 2nd November 1915.
STAPLETON Charles Ernest. Private, 3816, 1st/5th Bedfordshire Regiment. Died 3rd November 1915, aged 22 years at St Andrew's Military Hospital, Malta. The son of Frank and Sarah Ellen Stapleton, of 14 Holme Street, Bedford.
