Ooops! It's in the middle of the night, and my listening skills are not very good... sorry... Have changed this post to reflect the real world not ArcticWolf's bad hearing world... footin;
A friend of mine just told me these photos cannot be of the US Army unless they've all been supplied with brand new equipment in the last couple of months. I'm not allowed to disclose many details openly on here though , because the photos are so fresh and open for the public to view...
Sorry AW, these photos are geniune images of the 101st and they have been released by the US Army ( I can even list the names of the troops, the photogrpaher and the Officer who released the imagery, which I will not for security reasons).
They look pretty genuine to me AW, which bit of kit does your friend suggest is brand new?, the kit these boys are wearing and carrying appears to show signs of wear and tear.
Excellent find Matzos me ole buddy.
By the way I was out with my nephew last night, he is a corporal in the RAF has been for the last 11 years. he is working at Cottismore ? I think its there anyway I was bladdered last night so dont remember much. Its not far from Wolverhampton and they have Harriers there. He has promised me a load of pics and video footage. Looking forward to that. solthum
I sincerely apologise, Matzos, I really didn't mean to offend at all.
My friend said that the digicams were not worn by the Airborne only a couple of months ago. He also said the weapons were not the typical Airborne favourites (he mentioned the names of them but I am crap at remembering things like that, sorry).
You know me, I'm not an expert, I just thought I'd share a late night thought. Remind me to refrain from that in the future... Just box my head off if I do...
Hmmm... yeah well, my friend told me he actually cringed when he heard what I first wrote before I edited my text... hahaha... poor man will never dare register here now... ooops! footin;
AW no problem, you can only go with what you were told by a friend, I respect that. sal;
Bomber, RAF Cottesmore, is 35 minutes up the road from home, I'm making a visit to the Photo Section there in March.
Is your nephew on a Squadron? and 11 Years service,should be SNCO soon then.
On the 9th March the beers will be on me in the bar, 30 years ago on that date I took the Queen's shilling. Another 7 to go!!!!!
So you are going to some imagery from him, I lay you a bet that he go's to the Photo Section for one of their CD's, they all do. It will great to see what you get.
