prior to the sub being anti rusted, it sat rotting at the former home of the Historical Warships site on Wallasey docks. It was then taken on by a specialist firm who prep'd it and cut it into sections and transported it to its present site, Woodside Ferry Terminal, Birkenhead. Now at home on a proper site with museum etc. It can be views by the public. The ends of the sections are covered in perspex to both protect the insides and yet perfectly viewable.
