Truck FV13304, Ford Thames E3

...question to the masses, this ambulance was the subject of a movie which I saw as a kid at Camp Gagetown,the story being an escape through a desert by 3 or 4 men and a woman. At one point the truck could not get the necessary traction to get over a sand dune so the gents on board had to take turns hand cranking the truck backwards up the dune. I haven`t seen this movie since I was between 6 and 8 yrs old! Any one out there remember this movie could you kindly leave a comment,hell I even went out and bought the Lesney Dinky toy of the truck.

Sounds like "Ice Cold in Alex" - a 1958 movie. The scenario of stuck in the desert matches anyway.

I've read accounts of LRDG forces who became stuck way out in the desert using the same trick to get out of a sand trap. SW

...gentlemen,I stand corrected,this is not the truck that my youth led me to bieleve it is in fact the Katy Abulance and yes Bombardier they do have a cold one at the end!! I did not get to see the movie last night,too many restrictions however I was provided with a few stills of the truck which I will install into the British Softskins. Again thank you all for the help on the title of the movie at some point I will get to see it online .
