Private 1638, Canadian Infantry did 13th May at Roulers from wounds received at Ypres on the 23rd April 1915 aged 28. Buried in Roeslare Communal Cemetery, Belgium.
He was the husband of Alice of The Rookery, Ashford, near Bakewell, Derbyshire. Prior to going to war he was a rancher and was residing at the Empire Hotel, New Winnipeg, Canada. He was born in 1887 at Hartford, Cheshire to Walter Chapman and Alice of The Rookery, Ashford
