THORNBORROW, John

Erected by Comrades and friends to the memory of
Private John THORNBORROW who went out to the South African War
with the Kirkby Lonsdale section of the First Volunteer Active Service Company of the Border Regiment. Died at Pretoria of Enteric Fever Sep 15th 1900 aged 24.
Dulce et decorum est pro Patria mori.
This memorial is on the external south wall of St Mary's Church, Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria
