Thomas JOHNSON. Guardsman 20562 1st Coldstream Guards. Born 1889 to William and Mary Johnson. 1891 residing with his parents and siblings at 14, Terrace Buildings, Fenton, Stoke on Trent. 1901 with his parents and siblings at 39 Alfred Street, Fenton. 1910 he married Maria Salt at Christ Church, Fenton, Stoke on Trent. 1911 residing with his wife and children with his parents and siblings at 33 Kent Street, Fenton. Occupation, roadman, coal miner working underground. At the time of his death his wife was residing at 51, Frederick Street, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Died of wounds 7 December 1917 aged 29. His widow was granted a war gratuity for herself and children 11 April 1918, revised 20 November 1919. At rest in Tincourt New British Cemetery, Somme, France
He was commemorated on a Poppy Cross Memorial, at Werrington War Memorial, Staffordshire 2018
