RAPER, Thomas Edward, Private 18126, 1st King's Own Scottish Borderers killed in action at the Dardanelles, 5th January 3rd January 1916 aged 22. He was the son of William and Eliza of Long Street, Thirsk. Prior to enlistment he was a gardener. He is commemorated on his father's memorial in Thirsk Cemetery, Yorkshire and is at rest in Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery, Turkey
