Extended Description: BROOKES Sydney. Lance Corporal 3391580, 1/6th East Surrey Regiment was killed in action in Italy on the 1st March 1944 aged 31. He was the youngest son of William Henry and Mary Jane of Knutsford and was the husband of Margaret of Knutsford. He is commemorated on a family memorial in Knutsford Cemetery, Cheshire and is at rest in Minturno War Cemetery, Italy.
