Sgt Steven DARBYSHIRE Afgan 40 July 2010

Steven William (Darbs) DARBYSHIRE. Sergeant P053742H 40 Commando, Royal Marines was killed by small arms fire during a firefight with insurgent forces whilst on a security patrol in the Sangin district of Helmand province on the 23rd June 2010 aged 35. At rest in Gidlow Cemetery, Wigan Road, Standish, Wigan. WN6 0AD Section CE Row 22 Grave 502
Marine Paul Warren is also commemorated on the poppy cross
This poppy cross memorial was at the Basra Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire on the 12th November 2015
