Stanley Foster CREED

Extended Description
Stanley Foster CREED. Apprentice, Merchant Navy on MV Glenmoor (London) Cargo, coal. Born 1922 to Walter Foster and Louisa Amelia Creed, of Eastbourne, Sussex. Killed at sea when his ship was torpedoed and sunk on the 27 November 1940, The master and 30 crew members died. At 19.56 hours on 27 Nov 1940 the unescorted Glenmoor (Master Jack Young), a straggler from convoy OB-248 was torpedoed and sunk by U-103 about 167 miles northwest of Sylne Head. He was washed ashore at Brinlack 10 December 1940 aged 18.
At rest in Magheragallon Catholic Cemetery, Gweedore, County Donegall, Ireland

This memorial is at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire
