Interesting. The German accounts I've read about the Eastern Front were filled with admiration about the Russian PPSH-41. They picked them up and used them whenever they could along with the drum magazines. I suppose the Russians did the same with German weapons but I don't think the MP40 was as robust, reliable and had the drum magazine firepower of it's Russian counterpart.
