SHREEVE, Ambrose

In memory of Sergeant Ambrose SHREEVE, who on his return from South African War
during which he was present at General Prinsloos surrender in the Wittabergen
and saw much fighting with the 16th Brigade in Orange River Colony died at Netley Hospital, Hampshire on the 9th June 1901 in his 28th year and was here interred with Military Honours
on the 13th June 1901. He was the husband of Sarah Jane of Lichfield Street, Burton on Trent

This stone is erected by past and present Non-Commissioned Officers and Men of
the Burton Troop, Q.O.R.R., as a mark of respect for a gallant soldier and devoted comrade

Buried in Stapenhill Cemetery, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire
