This seat is situated at the Shot at Dawn Grove, National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire
and it is dedicated to the following
The executed
MURPHY, Allan, Private 12182, 9th Battalion, executed 17th August 1916. Buried at Quatre-Vents Military cemetery, Estree-Cauchy, France

Charles MILLIGAN, Private 43619, 10th Cameronian (S.R.)
Enlisted 16 February , Deserted about April 1917on the front line when his unit were abour to go in action. Captured some days later Court Martialed 5 May 1917 and was shot for desertion 3rd June 1917 aged 20. When he was laid to rest the location of his grave was not correctly recorded, but many years later the War Graves Commission were able to identify his remains. He is now at rest in Canadian Cemetery, No2, Neuville-St, Vaast, France
He was born 1897 to Samuel and Elizabeth Milligan nee Myat. Scottish 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 11 James Street, Camlachie, Glasgow. His father was granted a war gratuity 10 December 1917.

ASHTON, Harry, Lance Sergeant 13827, 11th Battalion, excuted at Salonika 8th July 1917 aged 20. Son of William & Alice, formerly of Manchester and Ramsgreave Road, Wilpshire, Blackburn, Lancashire. Buried at Karasouli Military Cemetery, Greece

MICHAEL James Sherrif, Private 23680, 10th Battalion executed 24th August 1917 aged 20 Native of Glasgow. Son of William & Johanna A of 526, Govan Street, Govan, Glasgow. Buried at Poperinghe New Military Cemetery, Belgium

MACKNESS Ernest, Private 11225, 1st Battalion, executed 1st October 1917 aged 25. Son of Arthur & Louisa of 3, Dundonald Road, Leicester. Buried at Blaringhem Churchyard, Nord France

On the 7th November 2006 a full posthumous pardon was given
