Extended Description: Rfn Sheldon STEELE.
Sheldon Lee Jordan STEEL. Rifleman 30053959, 5th Rifles. He was taking part in a foot patrol to disrupt insurgent freedom of movement and to reassure the local population in Babaji, in the Lashkar Gah district, which is in the Nahr-e Saraj (South) area of operations, when he was caught in the blast from an improvised explosive device (IED). He was airlifted to the field hospital at Camp Bastion where he was declared killed in action on the 27th November 2011 aged 20. At rest in Armley Cemetery, Green Hill Road, Leeds LS12 3PZ Section N grave 330.
This poppy cross memorial was at the Basra Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire on the 12th November 2015
