I thought the spelling of Sergeant was an error however I have discovered the following

A generally obsolete spelling of sergeant, although still used in some British Army regiments, notably The Rifles.

Sergeant James Richard Egan , 2nd Wing Glider Pilot Regiment, Army Air Corps Son of James Richard and Gwendoline Egan, of Queen's Park, Manchester; husband of Ethel Egan (nee Minshul), of Queen's Park.
26 D315 N/C Buried with his father, James Richard Egan.

More information about other graves here, it is a PDF and safe to download.

It is astonishing how many Military Graves are situated in Phillips Park Cemetery.
