By all accounts this is a fake (edited) picture.
Seems to me that suggestion is possibly right. The vehicle is totally level and although it would have a lot of weight at the rear the suspension is not compressed at all.
Another interesting adaptation though (y)

...come to think of it there`s no weight up front to compensate save for the spare tire,
not sure if there was a trunk up front on the schwimwagon to put weight into.
