SAS beltkit

SAS beltkit

Used throughout the 70's and 80's

No-one can ever state that a SF set is wrong - but the issue scales were 2x '44 WB Pouches plus 1x '44 SAS Mess Tin Pouch. I've never seen a genuine set to have any fewer than 2x WB pouches and no SF soldier would carry only 1x waterbottle on the belt.

The 2nd pouch (long) is a commercially made long version of the '58 WB Pouch - sold by DuBoras and possibly Survival Aids in the 1980s. The 4th pouch looks like a customised '37 Amm Pouch. Don't know about the 5th pouch.

Even if the shop bought pouch (#2) carried a waterbottle, there's no '44 SAS Mess Tin pouch. Troopers ADDED pouches to their minimum issue, as a general rule.

From what book did this come? I think the author was conned.

What you have in your other gallery is spot on!

I'm not fully up on SF webbing mate but I accept what your saying.
I assume it would make no difference if the SF kit was Brit, Australian etc ?
