Extended Description
Photo taken by my next door neighbour K.Bowman who gave permission for upload.

Gunner 24167846, Royal Regiment of Artillery with 40, Royal Marine, accidentally killed by friendly fire in the New Lodge, North Belfast, Northern Ireland on the 3rd September 1972 aged 18. He is buried in the same plot as Vincent Cutting served in the Royal Marines in WW2. (not sure what the connection with Robert Vincent) all buried in the same plot.

Hi Alf

I’m so pleased for the sad man who took pictures of my family grave and displayed them on this website WITHOUT any family permission ! Disgrace

This is a Commonwealth War Grave Commission War Grave, in a public cemetery, therefore accessible to all and does not require permission to be photographed and placed on line. One of the purposes of this wonderful site is to remember those who served their country and lost their lives in doing so. It would be a very sad state of affairs if they could not be remembered and their memory shared with others. The majority of members of this site are ex service and extremely proud to be able to recognise their fallen comrades.

Well said @28th61st , I have had some miserable email form her in the past and chose to ignore it. She clearly does not see how we are honouring Robert by remembering him and his life. I feel sorry for her and hope that one day she will see that those who have served or respect those that have, will always remember them.

Respect and Honour

Jaysus I just noticed she rated the photo with one star????
Sandra the ratings are for the content of the photo not the uploader for gods sake

It is blatantly obvious this person hasn’t a clue and has no respect for a family member who gave his life for his country. Maybe she would be spending her time caring for the grave and placing some floral tribute on it. It takes all sorts to make a worl, but thankfully we don’t come across this sort too often!!

This could have been an issue if the person and member here posting this photo would have stolen it from the FB or any other personal social medias/account of the family. Not the case here and she’s making a mountain out of a molehill. That’s a cemetery and the OP apparently took the photo himself. No biggie. The purpose of this site and especially such photos is remembrance of the dead soldiers regardless of their countries, religion or ethnicities.
