Robert McCLEMENTS. Rifleman 489, 8th Royal Irish Rifles. Born 1879 to William and Martha McClements, nee Gilmour. 1901 residing with his parents and siblings at 25 Nevis Avenue, Holywood Road, Belfast. Fell in action at Thiepval, 1st July 1916 aged 37 years. The following were all granted a joint war gratuity on the 8 September 1917 - Brothers John, Hans, William, Thomas, Hamilton, George, Samuel, Sister Bessie, Half Brothers James and Alexander. His brother had a revised war gratuity 3 December 1919.

Commemorated on his parents' memorial at Killinchy Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Churchyard, County Down, Northern Ireland. Also commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
