BERRY Robert Edward. Telegraphist J89337 Royal Navy on HMS Benbow died at Royal Naval Hospital, Malta 30 August 1922 from tetnus from a injury to his head and cardiac failure aged 20. His mother was informed of his death on the 31 August 1922. Born 3rd July 1902 at Barnsbury London to John and Louisa nee Whitehead. Enlisted 19 April 1918 at HMS Ganges. Shore Base in Suffolk as Boy class 2. Served on several ships his last being HMS Benbow .

At rest in Grave 82. Plot D, at Kalkara (Capuccini)Naval Cemetery, Malta.

His father fought in the Great War and survived. He joined the Army Service Corps at Aldershot 4 February 1915 as Private 6451 and later as Private 307551 Labour Corps. Embarked for France on SS Empress Queen 19 February 1915 from Southampton with the Labour Corps disembarked at Havre the next day.
