RICHARD WILLIAM DICKS. STOKER 282249 ROYAL NAVY OF HMS CANOPUS. BORN 1 JANUARY 1877 AT CLEY, NORFOLK. ENLISTED 9TH MARCH 1896. OCCUPATION PRIOR TO ENLISTMENT, LABOURER. DIED 26 NOV 1901 AGED 24 OF ENTERIC FEVER AT A HOSPITAL IN MALTA. SON OF SAMUEL AND REBECCA NEE CORNWALL. IN 1901 HE WAS STOKER ROYAL NAVY AT No 21 BUOY SHEERNESS HARBOUR, KENT. HIS FATHER WAS INFORMED OF HIS DEATH 2.12.01.
