Phoebe Elizabeth MEADOWS. Nurse VAD. Born 26 September 1889 at Olbury on Severn, Gloucestershire to Charles and Phoebe Meadows of Berkeley, Gloucestershire.
1891 residing with her parents and siblings at The Street, Oldbury on Severn. 1901 with his parents and siblings at Stambourne, Hinton, nr Sharpness Gloucestershire. 1915 residing at Lynch Road, Berkeley, Gloucestershire. Joined the VAD May 1915 aged 25 and reported for duty at the 4th Southern General Hospital, Plymouth, Devon 17 May 1915. On the 18 April 1917 she was posted to France, location not given. She left this hospital 26 April 1918.
Died in a sanatorium 20 May 1918 aged 28 of tuberculosis. A war gratuity was granted 15 May 1920 to her father. At rest in St Ardila Churchyard, Oldbury on Severn
N.B. The headstone appears to have been spelt incorrectly.
