Herbert Percy COLLINS. Petty Officer Stoker K3290 Royal Navy on HMS Wanderer. Born 9th February 1891 at Felixstowe Suffolk,to Walter George and Julia Collins nee Stevenson. In 1901 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Walton Road, Trimley St Mary, Suffolk. Enlisted 18th June 1909 on HMS Acheron, occupation prior to enlistment, portable engine driver. Took his own life 1st May 1925 on board his ship aged 35 years. Suicide by hanging. His mother was informed of his death 1st May 1925. Correct name was Herbert Percy Collins.

FOUND HANGED ON DESTROYER.
NAVAL MAN’S SUICIDE. Malta Saturday.
Stoker Petty Officer Herbert Percy Collins of the destroyer Wanderer was found hanged in the stokehold of his ship yesterday. On the previous day he had complained to a messmate about domestic trouble, adding that he was tired of life.

At rest in Plot D Grave 520 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
