Son of Ashton J Carter, of Pitchcombe, husband of Edith Rosetta Carter, of Eagle Cottage, Pitchcombe.
Buried at Porto-Gruaro Hospital grounds (on the Lemene and the Venice-Trieste Railway), The place was captured by the Austrians, and it has not been found possible to locate the grave.
Commemorated on a family headstone at
Pitchcombe St John the Baptist Churchyard, Gloucestershire.
