Pegi Rosamund Emyah GREEN

Extended Description: Pegi Rosamund Emyah GREEN, nee Lewis. Nurse VAD. Nursing in a hospital in Singapore and residing at Holland Road, Singapore.

Daughter of Basil H. and Lucinda Agnes Lewis, wife of Robert H. Green, Solicitor, who she married in 1938 St Andrews Cathedral, Singapore. Her father was manager of a rubber plantation.

Died at sea on the sinking of S.S. Tanjong Penang by the Japanese in the Banka Straits off the east coast of Sumatra 17 February 1942, she was aged 24.

Commemorated in a Book of Remembrance in St George’s Chapel in Westminster Abbey, London.
