Paul Leslie Hylder Dundas IRVEN. Flying Officer Royal Navy (Flying Instructor) of HMS Glorious Younger son of Captain Paul Irven, Royal Navy and Essie Constance nee Dundas He was flying a Blackburn Ripon S1265 (numbered 75) of 460 Flight, Fleet Air Arm, took of from Royal Naval Air Station Hal Far. About one and half hours in flight the engine failed, the machine was ditched in the sea near Ras il-Pellegrin', limits of Gnejna bay, Malta. He died 25th April 1932 aged 23 waiting to be rescued. Both had survived the crash.
