1982-85 the KGB London department chief. He worked as a double agent from 1974 for MI6 and provided valuable product. He escaped from Moscow in May 1985 shortly after the KGB suspected him to be a traitor.
Gordievsky was rejected by the CIA and was recruited by MI6 instead.
Gordievsky was betrayed by Aldrich Ames.
