Nehemiah KETLEY. William DONOVAN. James MILLS.

Extended Description
KETLEY Nehemiah, Private, 19432, 9th Worcestershire Regiment. Died 10th December 1915 at Malta from exposure and frostbite whilst on active service at Gallipoli. He was born at Quarry Bank, Christchurch, Staffordshire and was the son of Benjamin and Caroline Ketley. In 1911 he was married and was living with his wife, Millie at 64 High Street, Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill, Staffordshire.

DONOVAN William. Private, 16175, 6th South Lancashire Regiment. Died of wounds in Malta 9th December 1915, form wounds received at Gallipoli.
Some notes from what remains of his army records. He joined up at St Helens, Lancashire on the 28th December 1914 aged 28 years and 1 month in to the South Lancashire Regiment. He lived with his wife, Elizabeth and children at 56 Brunswick Road, St Helens, Lancachire. He was married on the 1st January 1908 at St Helens, Lancashire and had three children, Samuel, born 2nd October 1909, William born,17th May 1905 and Mary Ellen born 12th February 1914 all at St Helens. 26th July 1915 he was posted to the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 26th July 1915, Shot in the head while on active service. Invalided to Malta, admitted into a hospital (name not recorded) 8th December 1915 and died the following day from a gunshot wound to his head. He served 347 days.

MILLS James. Private, 1393, 1st Royal Munster Fusilier. Died of wounds on the 7th December 1915 at from wounds received at Galliploi. Born at Rochdale, Lancashire. His widow, Louisa was granted a war gratuity on the 8th April 1916.
