BARRASS Leonard, Sapper 31037, 468th Field Company, Royal Engineers who died of wounds 14 August 1918. he was the son of John Edward and Sarah nee Howen who in 1911 were living at 7, Alexandria Road, Morecambe. Leonard for the same year was working away from home as a builders foreman He was living with William and jane Staddon at 6, Scotgate Stamford, Lincolnshire. He is at rest in Holbeck Cemeter, Leeds, Yorkshire
BLACOW, William Birkett
Private 11691 2nd Regiment. (Infantry.), South African Infantry who killed in action on 20 September 1917age 41 at the third battle on the Menin Road, Ypres. He was the husband of Lily nee Hustler of 14, Hanover Street, Morecambe, Lancashire and was the son of Robert and Elizabeth. he is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium. He married Lily on the 9th September 1896 aged 24, St Judes Church, Bradford. His occupation was plumber and he lived at 11 Weston Street, Morecambe.
BROCKLEBANK Thomas Edward Born in 1897 and was baptised 7th November 1897 at Poulton Le Sands, Morecambe. His parents were Adam and Sarah Florence nee Birkett and they lived at No 7 Weston Street, Morecambe. His father was a fishman. He was Private 733, 4th South Africa Infantry who died on the 27th October 1916 from wounds received in action of the 25th October. At the time of his death his parents were living at The Hermitage, Kirkby-in-Firness, Lancashire. He is at rest in St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France (Source, South Africa War Graves Project)
BRAYSHAW, Cecil Charles, Corporal 740, 1/5th Royal Lancaster Regiment killed in action 9th May 1915 aged 23. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brayshaw, of 2, Hampton Rd., Sandylands, Morecambe, Lancs, and husband of Elizabeth Crawshaw (formerly Brayshaw), of 3, Overton Row, Queen's Street, Thorne, Doncaster. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium
COLLINWOOD, Philip Victor, D.C.M. Sergeant 41369 18th Machine Gun Corps, died of wounds on the 2nd September 1918. He is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, France. He was the son of Charles and Emma and in 1911 he and his siblings were living with widowed mother at 109 Clarendon Road, Morecambe. he was a clothier's apprentice (The CWGC have Phillips Collinwood) Some notes from what remains of his Army record. He joined on the 10th August 1914 at Scarborough as Private 12005 18th Hussars aged 19yrs and 200 days stationed at Tidworth. He fought in France from the 1st June 1915 to 1st August 1916 during which time he was transferred to the 278th Machine Gun Corps in the field. On the 24th November 1917 he was sent to Grantham from Camiers on a special Muchine Gun Corse. The 1st of December 1917 he was promoted to Sergeant and the 2nd December 1917 he was at the Machine Gun School at Belton Park. On the 29th March 1918 he embarked Southampton for Havre arriving the next day. The 1st September 1918 he was shot in the abdomen at Camiers and was treated at 56th Field Ambulance were he died of his injuries on the 2nd September 1918.

EVANS, Frederick William, Gunner 161853, 188th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery died 27th May 1918 age 32. He was the son of
William and Betsy Evans, of Darfield, Yorks and husband of Ethel Ada Evans, of 99, Chatsworth Road, Morecambe, Lancs. He is at rest in Brandhoek New Military Cemetery, No 3, West Vallanderen, Belgium
FRYERS, Joseph Rowland, Lance Corporal 3179, 8th Irish Battalion, King's Liverpool Regiment killed in action 3rd August 1916 aged 32. He is at rest in Peronne Road Cemetery, Maricourt, Somme, France. (Note CWGC have FRYER) Some notes from what remains of his Army Record. He enlisted at the age of 22 into 8th Irish Bn, King's Liverpool Regiment. His parents were Edward and Margaret Ann of 14, Charles Street, Morecambe and he was the brother of Thomas Henry who also fell in action. He fought in France from the 3rd March 1915 to the 3rd August 1916. His sister Mrs Margaret Jeanette Cross of 42, Gorst Street, Preston, received his medals.
FRYERS, Thomas Henry, Private 22367, 1st Loyal North Lancashire Regiment killed in action on the 7th March 1917 aged 31. He was the son ofEdward and Margaret Ann of 14, Charles Street, Morecambe and he was the brother of Joseph Rowland who also fell in action. he is at rest in Assevillers New British Cemetery, Somme, France.

KEW John Robert. (An extensive search has been made using the internet. The following information which has been taken for the 1901 census and what remains of his Army Records, both on Ancestry may be one of the same person. In 1901 there was a John Robert Kew born about 1896/7 and was the son of John and Margaret. They all lived at 1, Lamplugh Street, Carlisle and he gave his occupation as an organ builder. He joined the army 10th November 1915 aged 20 years and 5 months and he gave the same address and occupation. He was posted to the Army Reserve as private 202931 1/5th Border Regiment until he was mobilised on the 23 January 1917. He was posted from 50th Division Depot Battalion and embarked Folkstone on the 14th October 1917 and disembarked, at Boulogne same day. He was taken to Base Depot, France on the 15th awaiting to be sent to his regiment which was on the 24th October 1917. On the 21st March 1918 he was reported wounded and missing. He was taken a prisoner of war and wounded and was held at Limburg, Germany. He was repatriated to England date not known but it was recorded in his records on the 5th December 1918. He was demobilised at Ripon on the 5th January 1919 to class Z. He was re-employed by Harrison and Harrison, Organ builders at Durham. There is a death record, registered at Kendal in1975 for a person with the same name. He was born on the 23rd July 1895.
BELLOTT, Leonard, Private 2970, 5th Reserve King's Own Lancaster Regiment. He was the son of Anthony Edward and Jane nee Gunn. In 1911 Jane, now widowed was at her brother's family home at 4, Brighton Terrace, Morcambe, leonard for the same year was living with his Aunty and Uncle (Howard) at 13, Newburn Road, Tinsley and was working aged 15 as a labourer. Some notes from what remains of his Army record. He joined up on the 10th November 1914 and gave his home address as 1, Brighton terrace, Morecambe and was employed prior to enlistment as a railway carriage builder. He was medically discharged on the 8th June 1915 after serving only 180 days On the 27th May 1915 he was on a medical board when he was deemed unfit for war service. he was suffering from birth a complaint called Idiopathis Muscular
MILLER, James Corless. was born in 1869 to James and Dorothy of Morecambe. In 1901 he was living with his brother Isaac Johnson and Elizabeth his wife. he was the Inn Keeper of the Mason's Arms, 52, Queen Street, Morecombe. in 1911 James was now married to Sarah Agnes Longmire and he was the hotel proprietor of the Clarendon Hotel, Morecambe. The 1st September 1914 James Corless Miller of The Clarendon Hotel, Morecambe, Licensed Victualler, died. His effects went to Annie Miller, spinster and William Longmire. James and Sarah had several children two being boys both named James Corless. The first was born and died in 1897 and the other was born in 1903 and died in 1907. No other James Corless Miller can be found connected to the war effort.
MILLER, John Corless. Was born in 1899 at Morecambe to Christopher Henry and Florence. In 1911 they were all living at 48, Croft Street, Morecambe

The only other candidate could be this person. Corporal 200300 John MILLER, 1/4th Royal Lancaster Regiment who died on the 8th August 1916 in France. he was the son of David and Annie of Ulverston. He was native of Ulverston, Lancashire and he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France
MUCHALL, George William Stuart, 2nd Lieutenant ,2nd Royal Lancaster Regiment, Company Sergeant Major 6667 of the same regiment, killed 10th May 1915 aged 33. (Medal card has the 5th of May 1915) He was the son of William Angus and Selina nee Adams husband of Elizabeth Muchall, of 10, Grange Street, Bare, Morecambe, Lancs. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium
PARKIN, Edward, Sapper 218459, 260th Railway Troops Company, Royal Engineers died 10th December 1917 aged 28. He was the son of William and Grace Perkin, of 24, Derby Road, Skerton, Lancaster. In 1911 he was lodging at the home of his cousin Agnes Blackburn nee Perkin and her family. He is at rest in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West Vlaanderen, Belgium (Note, the CWGC have PERKIN which is correct)
RUSHWORTH, George Bertie, Sergeant 202822, 1/4th Duke of Wellington West Riding Regiment killed in action 13th April 1918 aged 36. He was the husband of Edith Rushworth, of 6, Ingham Street, Boughton, Chester. Called up from the Reserve. He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, West Vlaanderen, Belgium
SHUTTLEWORTH, Ernest Hebden, Lieutenant 8th West Yorkshire Regiment died 20th July 1918 aged 23. He was the son of Elizabeth Dawson (formerly Shuttleworth), now of Morecambe, Lancs, and the late John Shuttleworth, of Keighley, Yorks. He is at rest in Marfaux British Cemetery, Marne, France.
THRELFALL, James Henry, Private 2933, 5th Royal Lancaster Regiment died of wounds 19th August 1916 Native of Morecambe and he is at rest in Corbie Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme France
