The Panzerkampfwagen V Panther, next to the PzKpfw VI Tiger, is the best-known German tank of World War II. Production 3 version this tank Panther D,A,G First operation this tank was battle of Kursk in USSR in july 1943.Panther A was have technical problems (especially with the gearbox, transmission and suspension, and engine fires) that were not fully solved until later, many Panthers broke down before and during the battle. The next variant this tank was exellent and very dangerous.

Panthers left, I know two, but not this one!
 
I do believe your right about its location Polar. This is actually a PanzerKampfwagen V ausf A (Sd Kfz 171). The difference between this model and that of the later Ausf G is that the drivers vision port was removed from the front plate on tyhe Ausf G to increase strength and was replaced with a rotating periscope. The Panzer V Ausf A was also designated the Panther I, VK3002, Pz Kpfw Panther (Ausf A)
