Minnie Ivy HODGSON. Nursing Sister (Lieutenant) WFX11174 Australian Army Nursing Service 13th Australian General Hospital. Born16 August 1908 at Perth, Western Australia to John William and Contrary Hodgson, of Yealering, Western Australia, resided at Yealering, Wickepin, Western Australia. Enlisted 15 August 1941 Western Australia aged 32 years, next of kin her father. Embarked from Australia bound for Singapore of Hospital Ship, Wanganella 2 September 1941 disembarked Singapore 15 September 1941. Embarked Singapore bound for Australia 12 February 1942 on Vyner Brooke. Murdered by Japanese troops on Radji Beach at Bangka Island, 16 February 1942, aged 33 years after surviving the sinking of the SS Vyner Brooke. Commemorated on the Singapore Memorial, Singapore
