Flying Officer Michael James BRIDGE No. 2380453, 600 Squadron Royal Air Force stationed at RAF Biggin Hill.
Died Saturday 13 February 1954 aged 24.
Son of Allan Vizer and Katherine Bridge nee Lidderdlae .
He was flying at Gloster Meteor 8 on a routine dog fight exercise between 25,000 and 30,00 feet with Pilot Officer John Robert D’Arcy who was flying the other jet. It appears that there was a sudden decompression of his cockpit. Witnesses reported that the plane was spinning and then dive to the ground at Lock, West Grinsted, Sussex. His brother Flight Lieutenant Timothy Allman BRIDGE. DFC. who was killed 28 July 1952.

Flight Lieutenant Timothy Allman BRIDGE DFC 58304 Royal Air Force stationed at RAF South Cerney died 28 July 1952 aged 25 as the result of a mid air collision near Calmsden Gloucestershire during an instrument flying training sortie. He was pilot of a Harvard T.29 KF948 with Flt Sgt Hughes when he collided with Narvard T.2B FS822 flown by Flt Lt A L J MAY both died. Son of Allan Vizer and Katherine Bridge nee Lidderdlae. His brother Flying Officer 2380453 Michael James BRIDGE died 13 February 1954 At rest in All Hallows Churchyard, South Cerney Gloucestershire.
