Mary Charlotte DICKSON. Nurse VAD. Stationed at 9 General Hospital, Rouen Born ?14 January 1884 at 8 Sydenham Villas, Rathdown, County Dublin to Canon William Atkinson Dickson and Mary Dickson, nee Watt of Shedagh Fahan, Donegal, Ireland. Irish 1901 census her parents and siblings where residing at 1 Glebe, Fahan, Donegal. She was not at home when the census was taken. 1911 her father and three sisters were still at the same address. She and her mother were not at home when the census was taken.
She joined the VAD from 21 July 1915 to her death in 1917
Died of meningitis in a Stationery Hospital in France 16 February 1917 aged 30. A war gratuity was granted to her mother 08 December 1918 revised 08 December 1919.
Buried with full Military Honours at rest in St Sever Cemetery, Rouen, France
Commemorated in Fahan Parish Church

THE PASSING BELL
The death is reported from No. 25, Stationary Hospital overseas of Miss Mary C. Dickson, of the Nursing Service. The deceased was the eldest daughter of the late Canon Dickson, of Fahan, Co. Donegal.

Her sister Medical Officer Anne Eileen DICKSON. Of Ulster Volunteer Hospital French Red Cross. Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. Born 1886 and died on service December 1918.
