Living History

This is a replica of the sign that was painted on the side of the island of the CV-16 U.S.S. LEXINGTON. It was removed in the late 1940's as offensive and insulting to our now allies Japan. The Navy Brass said as long as it wasn't in blatant sight the ship could keep there honors. They repainted it on the hanger deck wall and thats where it still is to this day docked at Corpus Christi,Texas as a living museum.
