Lewis William Edward

Sergeant 1689, 1st/1st Herefordshire Regiment killed in action in Egypt 4th August 1916 age 21. Only son of George Edward and Minnie Lewis of 24, Clive Street, Herefordshire. His his commemorated on his grandparents William and Jane Lewis headstone at St John the Evangelist churchyard Storridge, Herefordshire, and is buried at Kantara War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. On this memorial it is stated that he was with the Machine Gun Corps, 158th Brigade
