Private 22120, Sidney LEWIS, 8th Border Regiment died 9th June 1918 aged 21. He was the son of William and Mary of 9, Alexandra Road, Windermere, Cumbria. He is at rest in Bowness Cemetery, Bowness on Windermere, Cumbria. Some notes that remains of his Army record. He joined up at Carlisle on the 2nd July 1915 aged 19 years occupation gardener. He fought in France from the 29th September 1915 to 1st November 1916. On the 29th October 1915 he was admitted to 76th Field Ambulance in the Field with Tubular Lung and on the 2nd of November 1915 he was transferred to England from No1, General Hospital, Etaples, France.
