- Leonard John JONES. Leading Cook C/M38155 Royal Navy on HMS Sandhurst. Born 3rd March 1906 at West Ham Essex, enlisted 22nd July 1924 on HMS Pembroke II. Civilian occupation shop assistant. He took his own life 2nd December 1931 aged 25 years from a gunshot wound. Suicide by gunshot. Court of enquiry states. Shot himself through the right temple with a .22 revolver at about 0730 2nd December 1931 whilst ashore at the Seaforth Lodging House, Strada Stretta, Valletta, Malta.
